March is a special time to celebrate Nutrition Month! During this month, we focus on the importance of good nutrition and the role dietitians play in helping people make healthy food choices. Nutrition Month is a national campaign aimed at raising awareness about how the foods we eat impact our health.

This year’s theme is “Nourish to Flourish” reminding us that food is not just about meeting our physical needs but also plays a role in our emotional, social, mental, and cultural well-being. For example, you may work on your emotional well-being through learning about mindful eating strategies, or you could better your mental well-being by focusing on foods and vitamins for brain health. These are just a few examples of how meeting with a dietitian can help you improve different aspects of your well-being.

Today is Dietitians Day, which is celebrated every year on the third Wednesday of Nutrition Month. Dietitians Day highlights the expertise of dietitians, who are trained professionals that guide individuals on how to eat in a balanced and healthy way. Whether its offering advice on plant-based eating, managing health conditions like diabetes, or providing mindful eating strategies, dietitians work hard to improve our health through food.
